1. Unable to go to the polls on Election Day due to age, disability, or illness
2. Military personnel, their Dependents, and Overseas Citizens
3. Students who temporarily reside outside of the county
4. Other voters temporarily residing outside the state, including vacationers
5. Person who is incarcerated but not yet been convicted of the crime
6. Person whose employment location requires him/her to be absent from the county all hours and days the absentee voting machine is in use

To obtain a Paper Absentee Ballot, please call 270-685-8434, extension 3

• Monday, October 11th – the absentee machine in the courthouse will open for a voter who:

1. Will be out of town on Election Day
2. Is having scheduled surgery that will require hospitalization on Election Day  (a voter’s spouse may qualify as well)
3. Military personnel, their Dependents, and Overseas Citizens
4. Is a woman who is in her third trimester of a pregnancy 

• Monday, October 4th – the last day to register to vote or correct your address for the General Election
• Wednesday, October 20th thru Tuesday, November 2nd – a voter and their spouse may request a paper absentee ballot because of a medical emergency within 14 days or less of an election
• Tuesday, October 26th – Last day to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot; Application must be received by the close of business on this day.  Late application will not be eligible for a paper absentee.
• Saturday, October 30th – Clerk’s Office will be open for Absentee Voting Only from 8:00am - 12:00pm
• Tuesday, November 2nd- General Election Day- Polls Open from 6:00AM until 6:00PM
