General Election Important Dates

Important Dates to Remember for the November General Election 2008

Monday, October 6th is the last day to sign-up or make a change to your voter registration for the November election . If you are not registered in Daviess County by this date, you will be ineligible to vote in the election.
Tuesday, October 7th at 9:00am - Absentee voting by machine will begin in the Clerk's office for those who quality. (Some examples include being out of town on Election day, being away at college, working out of town, having surgery scheduled or being in your last tri-mester of pregnancy).
Wednesday, October 22nd thru Tuesday, November 4th - If a medical emergency occurs, a voter and his/her spouse may vote by paper ballot by contacting our office and following the procedures for a Medical Emergency Ballot.
Tuesday, October 28th is the last day to apply for a paper absentee ballot. (This application must be received by mail or by the voter in the CLerk's office before 4:30pm on this day - NO EXCEPTION CAN BE MADE). Applications will be sent out anytime between now and October 24th- anytime after that would make it impossible to receive the application by the deadline.
Satuday, November 1st - The Clerk's office will be opened for Absentee voting ONLY from 8:00am until Noon. (Students and people who will be working out of town or have unexpected trips come-up are encourage to take this opportunity to VOTE)
Tuesday, November 4th- VOTE!! Polls are opened from 6am until 6pm
